Want to prepare an impressive application for this year’s WA Training Awards? Here is a handy guide to making the most of the resources available on the WA Training Awards website. Check out the useful tools, tips and templates and get started on your application today!

The Awards process

If you’re considering applying for a WA Training Award and want to know exactly what is involved, the Awards process page is a great place to start. The process for individual category applicants and organisation applicants is outlined in detail, from the written application, to the judging process and the WA and Australian Training Awards presentation dinners.

Application portal

Applications must be submitted online through the WA Training Awards application portal. Register to create an account in the application portal early on so you can familiarise yourself with the portal and start an application when you’re ready.

You can save an application and go back in and edit it at any time during the application period. Be sure to submit your completed application before 5pm on Friday 13 May 2016!

Note: Once you register on the application portal, you must first confirm your account via the account confirmation email from WA Training Awards. You may need to check your spam/junk email folder.

Tools for applicants

Check out the Tools for applicants page of the WA Training Awards website for:

  • examples of award winning applications (individual categories only);
  • evidence guides – examples of evidence you can supply to support your responses to the selection criteria; and
  • useful checklists to make sure you haven’t missed any important steps.

Required attachment templates

To make things easier we have created a range of useful templates and forms you may be required to fill in and submit with your application. Depending on the category you apply for, these templates include a:

  • reference template;
  • employer declaration template;
  • parent/guardian declaration template;
  • CEO/MD endorsement template; and
  • talent release form.

Ensure you give yourself and your referees, employers or parents plenty of time to complete these attachments.

Online information session – register now!

We will be holding two webinars in March 2016 for organisation and individual applicants. In the webinars you’ll hear from judges, previous winners and our Awards team to help you through the process. Register you interest by emailing trainingawards@dtwd.wa.gov.au.
